York Summer Games

 

York Parks and Recreation is calling everyone 18 years and older to participate in Summer Games VI!  Now is your time to go for the gold as York holds its Olympic style city-wide Summer Games.  The Games start July 26th and the closing ceremony will be July 28th.  Businesses, service clubs, churches, organizations, families or a group of friends form a team of 10-30 people for your chance to be a Champion!

6:00-6:30 Opening Ceremonies @ Harrison Park   

6:30-9:00 Coed Obstacle Course @ Harrison Park

6:30-8:30 Bike Rally & 5K Walk @ Harrison Park to FAC

7:30-9:30 Pitch Tournament @ York Country Club

Saturday, July 27

6:30-8:30 Team Triathlon @ FAC

8:00-9:00 Sidewalk Chalk Art @ City Square

8:00-10:00 Coed Sand Volleyball @ Harrison and East Hill Park

9:00-5:00 Iron Chef Grilling @ East Hill Park --pork loin,

9:30 -- 11:00 Billiards - 8 Ball Pool @ 4th Quarter Bar

10:30-1:00 Kickball @ Miller Park Ballfields

11:00-12:30 Bowling @ Sunset Bowl

1:30-4:00 Coed 5 on 5 Basketball @ York Middle School Gym

1:00-2:30 Putt Putt Golf @ York Country Club        

2:00-3:00 Sand Castle Build-off @ Harrison and East Hill Park

3:30-4:30 Cup-Cake Tasting @ Auditorium

4:30-6:00 Water Polo @ FAC

4:30-5:30 Pitch/Hit/Run @ Levitt Field

5:00-5:30 Iron Chef Judging @ East Hill

6:00-7:30 Trap Shooting @ Shooting Range

6:00-7:00 Water Bucket Pong @ Miller Park

8:00 -- Midnight SOCIAL EVENT @ AUDITORIUM

Sunday, July 28

12:00-2:00 Adventure Race @ Beaver Creek Parking Lot

12:00-3:30 Soccer @ East Hill Park

2:00-3:30 Disc Golf @ Mincks Park

4:00-5:00 4 on 4 Tug-of-War @ East Hill Park

5:00-6:00 Awards Ceremony @ East Hill Park

 

Team Fee:  $375 per team.

Deadline for Team Registration:  July 1st.  No late teams accepted

Team rosters:  Minimum of 10 and maximum of 30 players per team.

 

Top finishers in each event will be awarded points.  The team with the most points at the end will be honored as the Summer Games VI Champion.  So gather your team members and call the Community Center for more information on registering your team.  The Summer Games were a huge success last year.  Don't miss out on this great event that promotes fun and fitness.  Get all fees and paperwork handed in to the York Community Center before July 1, 2013.  Coach packets are available at the Community Center.

  • Team Medal Count - Points
    A list of the events and the score received. The first place team received 30 points, second place team 20 points, third place team 10 points and all other teams involved in the event got 3 points. This determined the overall winner of the Summer Games
  • Summer Games Participate Evaluation
    Participates please fill out this evaluation of the summer games and email it to cturner@cityofyork.net or pchristensen@cityofyork.net to ensure the Summer Games V will be the best yet!
  • Summer Games Coordinator Evaluation
    Coordinators if you have not completed the summer games event evaluation will you please fill out this evaluation and email it back to cturner@cityofyork.net or pchristensen@cityofyork.net.
