Community Center

Located at 211 E. 7th Street is the City of York's health club and family recreation center. With a full-size lap pool, whirlpool, gymnasium, complete strength and cardio equipment room, racquetball and wallyball courts, the Center is always buzzing with activity. Senior Citizen aquatic exercise classes offered M/W/F mornings.

Palmer Museum

Located in the York Community Center (211 E. 7th Street). Interesting displays and hundreds of historical artifacts reflect the settling and development of this region...typical of York and the surrounding counties. Displays include Native Americans, the arrival of the pioneers, life in the late 1800's and many other topics of historical interest. Open to the public Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

City Auditorium

Located at 612 N. Nebraska Street. This beautiful multi-functional building is available for rental for a wide variety of activities. The rooms include the main gymnasium-sized floor, kitchens, dining rooms, USO Room, and Saddle Club Room, and the York Area Children's Museum. Activities held at the Auditorium include receptions, auctions, sporting events, home shows, craft fairs, health fairs, meetings, and conferences.

York Area Children's Museum

Located in the City Auditorium. This newly remodeled state of the art museum boasts a hands-on "town" for children. The stores include a grocery store, veterinary clinic, bank, doctor's office, railroad station, and many other features that invite children to play and pretend. Operated completely by volunteers, the Children's Museum is a source of pride for all the citizens of York. Children's Museum Hours: Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and the 2nd Friday of the month 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Also available by appointment (402) 728-5224 or (402) 724-2543.
