Welcome to York Park and Recreation !

Winter is quickly upon us and with the holidays just around the corner we are busy with the hustle and bustle, but let's not forget to recreate.  Though the weather outside may be frightful, York Parks and Recreation is ready to help you stay active and have fun!  With our adult, senior, and youth program there is something for everyone.

Our indoor 25 meter swimming pool and hot tub is always a favorite.  The weight and cardio room is ready to fill your fitness needs; we have just added a new rowing machine and added one more elliptical to reduce your wait.  Need more motivation to get up and moving, try water aerobics or our adult volleyball leagues.  Kids tired of being inside?  Come out to the Community Center and join our many programs and day camp.  Our morning water aerobics for seniors is always a splash!  You can't control the weather, but join us at the York Community Center for all your recreational and leisure needs.

We always enjoy hearing from you!  Have an idea for a program or any suggestions please call us at (402) 363-2630 or email us at pchristensen@cityofyork.net or nriens@cityofyork.net

Tree City USA

The City of York has been awarded Tree City USA designation for 17 years. This designation by the Arbor Day Foundation says the citizens of York are dedicated to the planting and care of trees in their environment. This designation has been helpful to the Park Department in being awarded grants for special tree projects over the years. The Tree Board plays an active role in maintaining York's commitment to the enjoyment of our trees.
