New Residential Subdivisions

| Peter's Sunrise Estates Subdivision - 16th Street |

Peters Sunrise Estates Subdivision, located north of Minck's Park and east of Washington Avenue, will have 34 new single family residential lots. Water and sanitary sewer mains and concrete paving are now complete. Lots are now for sale.

Karashow Ridge Subdivision, located 3/4 mile south of Nobes Road on Grant Avenue, will have 10 new single family residential lots. Water and sanitary sewer mains and concrete paving are complete. Lots are now for sale.

Predmore Subdivision located at 10th Street and Maine Avenue has area for 6 new single family residential lots. Water, sanitary sewer and street paving have been completed.

Nebraska Avenue Improvements
Nebraska Avenue from 4th Street to 14th Street will be improved with a new concrete surface, storm sewer, curb and gutter. The project is in its final design phase now. Actual construction is projected to begin in 2009
Construction Demolition Waste Site
Land has been purchased for a new C & D Waste Site. Construction has been completed and the C & D site is now permitted to receive construction demolition waste. The cost will be $24.00/ton. Questions concerning materials qualifying for disposal in the C & D landfill should be directed to John Biel at 363 2690.
Airport Improvements
Contracts for Runway 17 Safety Area grading and threshold relocation have been approved. J.C. Excavation Unlimited, Inc.of Kennard, Nebraska completed the safety area grading in September. Kayton Electric of Holdrege, Nebrasksa will complete the threshold relocation, electrical and marking in the spring of 2009. Total project construction cost is $395,675.55 with 95% paid with FAA funds, 2% paid with Nebraska Department of Aernotics funds and 3% paid by the City of York. Completion of the project will allow recovery of a displaced threshold for avation use.
Wastewater Treatment Plant Improvements
The gas holding tank at the wastewater treatment plant will be replaced. The present tank installed in the fifties has failed and is beyond repair. A new tank installed is estimated to cost $200,000.
Additionally the grinder on the wastewater influent line will be replaced with a bar screen to remove the solids from the waste stream. The grinder has been a constant source of maintenance and does not remove the solids which cause pump and valve failures within the wastewater treatment plant - estimated cost is $363,000.
Park Improvements
Beaver Creek ball field is being improved with new infield surfacing and sprinkler system. The grading has been completed and sprinkler lines installed. Field surfacing and completion of the sprinkler system will be finished prior to the 2009 baseball season.
